Baltic Dance Platform

Baltic Dance Platform is an initiative started at the end of 2018 by three Baltic countries’ dance organisations: Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava/STL (Estonia), Lithuanian Dance Information Centre and Latvian Dance Information Centre to promote Baltic contemporary dance internationally, create a stronger collective international presence of the Baltic contemporary dance scene.

The Platform carries out its aims through different activities like everyday networking, a biannual 3-days showcase festival and representation in international gatherings for professionals in the field of contemporary dance. This is to enable a stronger collective international presence of the Baltic Dance scene as we have created possibilites to ease artistic and organisational collaboration, a dissemination of information and stimulate new joint initiatives between Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian dance communities.

The next Baltic Dance Platform showcase will take place in May 19th–21st, 2022 in Tallinn. The 3-day showcase brings together productions from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to introduce the most remarkable artists of the contemporary dance in the Baltic States.

The full program and schedule of the Baltic Dance Platform for 2022 will be announced in March, when ticket sales will also begin.

In total, 104 applications were submitted for the open call for Baltic Dance Platform. Dance artists had an opportunity to participate in three categories: performance, pitch presentation and workshops.
